Painted by the Rain

Pratibha Agdern
10.5 x 8 in.
digital photo
$100

I was struck by the simple beauty of the rain drops on this leaf and that it landed on a stone walk of such similar subtle colors was stunning! Slowing down in 2020 had its special moments.

Lunch Box

I choose this to represent 2020 to show the new reality of today. Lunch is normally the part of the day where you can socialize with all your friends. The lunchroom would be filled with loud voices and laughter. Now today you must sit at a desk all by yourself surrounded by a plastic shield while you eat. The lunchroom is now filled with the sounds of friends on FaceTime with each other and games being played on phones. 2020 has changed the way kids have to socialize through pieces of plastic surrounding them during their favorite period of the day. It shows the isolation that we’ve had to go through this year.

It’s Been Jarring

Debra Baer

photograph
$200

A feeling of being isolated, trapped, even if we can be outside in our own backyard. Everything so close, yet now so far. Like so many others, we had so many plans in 2020 that we were able see, but couldn’t get to.

French Horn

Henry Butz
16 x 20 in.
digital photo
$200

Being constrained to photographing items in my apartment I photographed my French Horn for its flowing curves. This photograph echoes all beautiful and original music which was stifled in 2020.erything so close, yet now so far. Like so many others, we had so many plans in 2020 that we were able see, but couldn’t get to.

Point of View

I chose this photo because it portrays differences. The colors show how you can feel based on how you look at something. It’s all about perspective. Depending on how you look at something can determine how you will feel. Thoughts matter too.

Social Distance

A chagrinned passerby not convinced of the optimism offered.

Lonely Soul

I chose this submission because it brings out what 2020 was really about. I know I wasn’t the only one who felt lonely during this quarantine so this picture shows it. This picture reflects how I spent my quarantine… stuck alone in my room.

Every Summer my wife an I travel to Maine and always stop at Acadia National Park. The Anenome Cave is one of our secret shooting locations for a sunrise photo op at low tide.

Fortunately, my wife and I traveled throughout the USA during 2019 before the quarantines began. One of our stops was Arches National Park in Utah. We took an exhausting hike to Delicate Arch for this beautiful photo.
