Oil/Acrylic Still Life Painting – From Start to Finish
The class will start with how to put down your sketch/drawing onto the canvas and work on value and chroma, how to use the right color for highlights and shadows and glazing technique, painting layers step-by-step. You will be working on the same painting throughout the class and learn how to finish the painting.

DRAWING
4 week mini session
PROPORTIONS of DRAWING with
KEVIN YEN
The most important thing about painting, whether it’s oil, acrylic or watercolor, is the importance of basic drawing skills. In this mini session workshop, you will learn how to draw accurate proportions step-by-step, what you see and transfer onto paper, from start to finish. You will start with easy compositions to a more complicated setting, class will provide you with a few still-life images to work on. The first class will be an easy still-life drawing then move on to more complicated subjects.

Manny Villalobos "Mr. Manny"
Manuel Adolfo Villalobos is a Fine Artist, Musician and Art Educator from New York. He has achieved a bachelors in Art Education from Long Island University Post and is also a co-founding member of the alternative hip-hop group A SideOf Darkness (A.S.O.D), were he goes under the stage name OG Manny G. Through his music and art he expresses socially and politically driven awareness which is showcased in his artwork and rhythmic lyrics.
Diana Roldan
Diana Roldan is a teacher for our young artists’ classes and owner or Diana Roldan Ceramics. She was formerly a teacher at the Children’s Museum of the Art in New York, and has taught several of our kids workshops. Clay as a medium and the ceramic process has always spoken to her the most. It has allowed her to speak through my hands about what’s hard for me to express with words. We are excited to welcome her to The Art Guild.
Kathy Heid
Kathy Heid is an artist and educator living in Port Washington. She studied fashion at FIT and has an extensive background in the retail business. After her 3 children were successfully raised and launched, she began work as a teaching assistant here in Port Washington. This will be her third year as art teacher at a summer camp, working with children from ages 4-16. Additionally, Kathy started a line of cards and gift items during the Covid lockdown and calls it Inspired Redesigns.
Marni Hagel
Marni Hagel is a dedicated and passionate teacher with 19 years of experience in the New York City School District and an avid artist. She holds a BA in Fine Arts with a focus on Photography and an AS in Elementary School Education. Residing in Port Washington with her husband and two children, Marni brings her rich background and enthusiasm for the arts to her new role. We are thrilled to have her guide our young artists through the exciting journey of our “Art in the Wild” class!

Late registration
Late registrations are welcome in most cases. Call to have your tuition adjusted. Adjustments will not be made for classes missed during the session.

Cancellations made:
- 2 or more weeks prior to the start of class will receive a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee.
- less than two weeks prior to the start of class will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
