Please be aware that the digital images you send should look as good as they possibly can. These will be the images that will be will be reviewed by our curators and displayed in our online gallery. Try to photograph your image in natural light, that the image is straight and that there is no glare on glass or varnished surface.

You can enter as many students as you wish and pay through BOCES.
Each student can submit their artwork and fill out the form on our website.
We will send you an invoice for the total number of students that you can submit to BOCES.
There is no group discount.

School District is paying:

Each student can fill out the form on our website and submit the work. (Disregard the mandatory payment. You can submit artwork without payment.)
Please send an email to artshow@TheArtGuild.org with the students names.
We will send you an invoice for all of the participants that you can submit to the district. There is no group discount.

Teacher is submitting artwork for a group of students:

The teacher can email all of the students artwork to us together at artshow@TheArtGuild.org and you will be invoiced after. There is no group discount. You can be the contact – meaning we would not email the students if they are accepted, we would just email you.

SELLING YOUR ARTWORK

Artwork may be sold directly by the artist with a suggested donation of 20% of the selling price from the artist to The Art Guild. Note, however, that sales may not be made at the exhibition. All work must remain on view for the duration of the exhibit.

SIZE & FRAMING
If your artwork is selected, it must be framed. Frame size must not exceed 30” on the longest side Frames must be wired securely for hanging with screw eyes or D-rings to the frame, NOT the backboard. No sawtooth hangers, tape, strings. We can wire for you for a $10 fee. Gallery wraps are acceptable, but must be at least 1” thick. Work must be labeled with the title, artist’s name, street address, phone number, and email. Framing of your work must comply with the above OR IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
LIABILITY & INSURANCE

The Liability Waiver on the entry form must be signed by the artist submitting images for consideration. It is the responsibility of the participating artist to insure or self-insure any work submitted for inclusion in this exhibit.

All current TAG members (high school and older) may submit one entry to Members Showcase 2022. Non-members can become members at time of submission

CRITERIA All styles from non-objective to abstracted realism are welcome. All works must be original and have been created in the last five years. References used in the creation of the submitted work must be the artist’s own, or copyright-released for use in this work. Works previously exhibited at The Art Guild Gallery will not be considered.

MEDIUMS: Included but not limited to acrylic, charcoal, collage, colored pencil, digital art, ink, mixed media, oil, pastel, pencil, photography, printmaking, sculpture, or watercolor. No Copies, Master Copies, Reproductions or Giclees.

Coming out of challenging times when outdoor experiences and nature have taken on a new meaning in our lives, please show us how gardens and flowers have helped you to celebrate life, convey emotions or instill in you peace and calm.

JUDGE Susan Peragallo is the Gallery Coordinator and Curator at ALLI. She has also served as a docent at The Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington, NY for over 15 years. She earned her B.S. Degree in Design with a concentration in Ceramics from SUNY Buffalo College, and her fine art training focused on the figure and anatomy in studio classes at the Art Students League of NY. Susan believes that art’s diversity provides people of all backgrounds opportunities to share their unique perspectives, and her career in the arts has given her a platform to encourage and support artists at all stages of their creativity

The Art Guild invites all artists, 18 years and older, to submit artworks for consideration for “ESCAPE – Landscapes, Seascapes, Cityscapes”, a Juried Competition and Exhibition.

What excites you about the world around you? Invite viewers to immerse themselves in the environment you have created through your work, whether it’s a landscape, seascape, cityscape or some other expanse. Help them to escape from the tedious repetition of routine. Gaze through the window or step outside to take a creative journey – short or long – and bring it to viewers through your artwork in this exhibition.

JUDGE Edward Puchner is the Executive Director of Gallery North in Setauket, NY. He served as executive director of the Greenville Museum of Art in North Carolina. Before that he was a curator at the McKissick Museum at the University of South Carolina. He spent some time at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (known for its collection and the famous steps that Rocky runs up in the movie’s training montage). Early in his career he served as gallery manager in NYC at the Luise Ross Gallery in SoHo. He received his Ph.D. in art history from Indiana University

SIZE AND FRAMING: Size, with frame, must not exceed 36” on the longest side.  Work should be cleanly matted and/or framed (if appropriate), wired securely for hanging, with the wire attached via screw eyes or D-rings to the frame (not the backboard).  No saw tooth hangers, tape or string on the back.  Gallery wraps are acceptable, but they must be a least 1” thick. Work must be labeled with artist’s name, phone number and email address.

Framing of your work must comply with the above OR IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

ENTRY FEE(S) Entry fees are payable online when you upload or by mailing a check. Registration is required and fees are non-refundable.

  • Members: $30 (1-2 pieces)
  • Non-members: $45 (1-2 pieces)
  • One additional entry: $10 (per person)
  • No more than 3 works per artist.  Entry fees are non-refundable.

FINALISTS The Selection Committee will review all entries and notify each artist as to the acceptance of the submitted work. The Art Guild has the right, in its sole discretion, to choose which eligible entries will be accepted to be exhibited. All decisions are final. Artists whose work has been selected will be notified after March 29, either by email OR on our website

LIABILITY & INSURANCE The Liability Waiver on the entry form must be signed by the artist submitting images for consideration. It is the responsibility of the participating artist to insure or self-insure any work submitted for inclusion in this exhibit.

SELLING YOUR ARTWORK

Artwork may be sold directly by the artist with a suggested donation of 20% of the selling price from the artist to The Art Guild. Note, however, that sales may not be made at the exhibition. All work must remain on view for the duration of the exhibit.
