Flowers are more than beautiful. Their symbolic language has been recognized by many cultures since the beginning of time. They bring joy to our happiest celebrations and provided comfort on the saddest days.

Tracy Lefkowitz

Tracy Lefkowitz

Art Director/Program Director

Tracy returns to her design roots when she joined the staff of The Art Guild.  She had worked as an Art Director at Golden Books after working at Scholastic Publishing, Early Childhood Today Magazine, and Workman Publishing and then worked many years in Early Childhood Education. She is also Freelance designer for a variety of clients.

I love all the creative energy you feel as soon as you walk through the door or even enter the website, it inspires me to keep creating.

Tracy achievements include:
– 2024 Community Outreach Award in Memory of Peter Dejana
– Board member and Registrar of Programming for the Port Washington P.A.L.
– Captain of “The Bombers”, 1 of the 5 PW Women’s Softball teams
-1996 National EdPress Award – Design, cover story
-1996 National EdPress Award -How-To-Creative Dramatics Story
-1994 Selected and presented at The Art Director’s Club
-1994 Selected for David Carson Design Competition

Tracy enjoys drawing with ink, doodling, and using typographic solutions as art – she has an obsession with fonts!

Tracy lives in Port Washington with her husband, 3 children and 2 Bulldogs.

Tony Chung

30 years of leadership experience in financial services technology, including FIS and SunGard. At FIS, he led the private equity business as Chief Operating Officer and founded its Strategic Advisory Board. At SunGard, Tony consistently delivered double-digit growth as Head of Sales.

I love TAG’s commitment to providing a community where artists and craftspeople can collaborate, learn, and thrive. I’m honored to be on the board and want to leverage my experience to advance and serve TAG’s mission.

Call to Artists: Members Showcase 2021 Exhibition

Gallery Open Limited Dates for Viewing

CALL TO ARTISTS: All current TAG members (high school and older) may submit one piece of their artwork to Members Showcase 2021. Non-members can become members at time of submission.

CRITERIA: All styles from non-objective to abstracted realism are welcome. All works must be original, and have been created in the last five years. References used in the creation of the submitted work must be the artist’s own, or copyright released for use in this work. Works previously exhibited at The Art Guild Gallery will not be considered.

MEDIUMS: Including but not limited to acrylic, charcoal, collage, colored pencil, digital art, ink, oil, mixed media, pastel, pencil, photography, printmaking, sculpture or watercolor. No Copies, Master Copies, Reproductions OR Giclees.

SIZE AND FRAMING: Frame size must not exceed 30” on the longest side and wired securely for hanging with screw eyes or D-rings to the frame, NOT the backboard. No sawtooth hangers, tape or string. Work must be labeled with the title, artist’s name, street address, phone number, and email. Framing of your work must comply with the above OR IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

JUROR OF AWARDS: Christian White grew up in a family of artists studying drawing, painting and sculpture from a very young age. He began studying painting in 1966 with Paul Russotto before attending Liceo Artistico in Rome, Italy in 1968-69 and has a BFA in Painting from RISD.  He had his first solo exhibition in 1975 at The Harbor Gallery in Cold Spring Harbor, NY followed by shows at The Steven Adams Gallery, Ingber Gallery, The Garrison Art Center and The Great American Salvage Company. He has had yearly one-man shows at Gallery North, in Setauket, Long Island, since 1983.

  • Members: $30 for one submission
  • Student members: $15 for one submission

IMAGES Digital image submission via email to artshow@TheArtGuild.org or uploaded to our website, should be between 1MB and 3MB each. To resize or compress your images, go to PICRESIZE.com

Please be aware that the digital images you send should look as good as possible. These will be the images that will also be displayed in our online gallery. Try to photograph your image in natural light, be sure that the image is straight and that there is no glare on glass or varnished surface.

Fill out the form below, upload images and pay below. If you have problems with the uploader, please email your image to artshow@TheArtGuild.org  – with ALL contact information, image title and medium. We will invoice you for payment.

Label your images as follows: artist’s lastname_firstname_entrynumber_title.jpg (smith_john_1_beachsunset.jpg). Do not use the # or other symbols in the file name. You MUST change the actual name of the image file. Images CANNOT be named “image.jpg” or “fullrender.jpg” or similar – our database overwrites these images. If you email the images, you must include your name, contact information and the title, medium, value, and size in your email. 

LIABILITY & INSURANCE The Liability Waiver on the entry form must be signed by the artist submitting images for consideration. It is the responsibility of the participating artist to insure or self-insure any work submitted for inclusion in this exhibit.

SELLING YOUR ARTWORK

Artwork may be sold directly by the artist with a suggested donation of 20% of the selling price from the artist to The Art Guild. Note, however, that sales may not be made at the exhibition. All work must remain on view for the duration of the exhibit.
