Chinese brush stroke Painting
Gan Yu is coming back to TAG!
Learning Chinese brush stroke painting involves mastering the art of creating expressive strokes with a brush and ink. It’s a meditative practice that emphasizes the flow and energy of the brush, focusing on capturing the essence of a subject rather than precise details. You’ll learn about:
- Brush control: Different types of brushes, how to hold them, and how to vary pressure and speed to create different effects.
- Ink techniques: Grinding ink from an ink stick, controlling ink concentration, and using dry brush techniques.
- Basic strokes: Learning the fundamental strokes like the dot, line, and curve, which form the building blocks of Chinese painting.
- Composition and subject matter: Understanding the principles of composition in Chinese painting and exploring traditional subjects like landscapes, flowers, and birds.
- The philosophy of Chinese painting: Learning about the underlying principles of harmony, balance, and the expression of inner spirit.
By practicing these elements, you can develop your own unique style and create beautiful and meaningful works of art.
