Antonia Fthenakis
Antonia Fthenakis
Antonia Fthenakis is a Parsons School of Design graduate, a Bank Street educator and a teacher of children and young adults with special needs, teaching studio arts and the art of traditional skills in NYC public school for some17 years. Currently based in Port Washington, co-creating and offering teachings inspired by the natural world, Waldorf philosophy, integrative holistic wellness and the Reiki healing arts.
Heather Heckel
Heather Heckel is an artist and educator whose artwork is in several national permanent collections, and has been shown internationally. She earned her BFA in Illustration from the Ringling College of Art and Design, her MAT in Art Education from the School of Visual Arts, and is currently pursuing her MFA in Painting through the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is in her sixth year of teaching public school Art, and currently teaches at Carrie Palmer Weber Middle School in Port Washington. This summer she will be completing her seventh artist-in-residency through the National Park Service.Her portfolio, awards and publications can be viewed at www.HeatherHeckel.com.
Kristine Rivera
Kristine Rivera is a Long Island artist and artist teacher who attended Pratt Institute and Hofstra University. She received her MSed in art education and her MFA in Art Curriculum Design. Rivera is primarily an oil painter but often works in colored pencil. She has exhibited works on several occasions at both The Art Guild and Hofstra University. These shows included works from her “Heritage” series, a collection of oil paintings of dominos symbolic of the Puerto Rican culture. Her “Memento Vivre” series, inspired by memento mori, but focusing on life rather than death was shown at Hofstra University received acclaim through Hofstra News. She currently teaches at The Art Guild as well as Weber Middle School in Port Washington.
