Photographing indoors during the pandemic, I was looking for outdoor light shining upon my indoor subject. When taking this photograph, I had to open my front door wide, even though it was cold outside. I think the result was worth a chilly breeze.

The child is frightened and clinging to her mother, her life preserver, on the Staten Island Ferry. It makes me think of the anxiety caused by the pandemic which has hit the African American community particularly hard.

I enjoy walking on the beach and seeing all the beauty around, I find it calming and relaxing. Driftwood was taken on one of the walls and i thought the shape and texture was interesting. I hope you do,too.
