The Art Guild’s studio art classes, led by professional teachers and practicing artists, provide unique opportunities for personal expression in drawing, painting, digital arts, and more! Situated on the historic grounds of the Elderfields Preserve—the oldest house in Nassau County—these classes cater to adults of all abilities, offering both in-person and online group instruction. With a diverse range of classes available year-round, there’s something for everyone, regardless of skill level. Proudly awarded Best Art School for the past nine years, The Art Guild is known for its friendly community and welcoming family atmosphere.
Workshops
For artists short on time but eager to quickly immerse themselves in a new technique or gain a brief introduction to new mediums, our short-term workshops are the perfect fit! Taught by renowned instructors from all over, these workshops allow students to devote a weekened—or even just a few hours—to learning a special topic or technique. These workshops cover diverse topics from traditional mediums to newer ones like mosaics and fiber arts. Held at The Art Guild, they cater to artists of all skill levels. Join our welcoming community and experience the joy of artistic expression in just one or two sessions!
Kids & Teens
At The Art Guild, our kids’ art classes and workshops are where creativity takes off! We focus on fine arts in a fun, nurturing environment that lets young artists shine. Forget the usual arts and crafts—here, your child will dive into a world where their artistic passion is celebrated and taken seriously. Guided by caring, professional teachers who love working with kids, this program is the perfect adventure for budding artists ready to explore the exciting world of fine arts. And with nine consecutive years as the best art school, we’re excited to welcome your child into our creative family!

Who We Are
The Art Guild of Port Washington, Inc., is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. As Nassau County’s (Long Isand’s) premier community visual arts center, we serve as a hub for local artists, students and families to broaden their creative pursuits. We are located at the Elderfields Preserve in Manhasset on the North Shore of Long Island. Our door is always open to the advancement of the visual arts for people of all ages and demographics. Consider a donation so that we can continue to support the arts in our community.
The Art Guild is a non-profit visual arts center.
We offer an amazing array of weekly classes and short workshops for adults, teens and children in person and online for all levels. Whatever your interest – watercolors, oils, drawing, photography – we can help you develop your artistic skills and release your creativity. Classes and workshops are small and personalized, and our instructors are all professional teachers and artists, some local and others from far corners of the world.
We host 9 Gallery shows per year, with juried competition and exhibits, where you can showcase your work. Our gallery and activities are held at the Elderfields Preserve in the oldest building in Nassau County. We would love to have you creating art with us!
