CALL FOR ENTRIES The Art Guild invites all artists, 18 years and older (high school students ages 14-18 years may enter in the student category), to submit photographic works for consideration for “Shedding Light on The Subject” a Juried Photography Competition and Exhibition.

Light enables photographers to make beautiful and striking images. How do you use light, in all its forms, to shed light on your subject and create compelling visions? We’re looking for creativity and originality – work that reflects your unique approach and style.

Criteria All styles from abstract to realism are welcome. All works must be original. The selection committee’s decision is final. Works to be included in this exhibition must be available from January 28 – February 25, 2018.

JUROR OF AWARDS: Katherine Criss is a fine art photographer, with more than sixty years professional experience in photography, painting and creating opportunities for artists to share their vision. Later after completing a BFA at SVA, she established a freelance photo business, (Have Camera Will Travel), and consulted on projects such as an exhibition of vintage photographs for the National Board of the YWCA. In 1992 she joined PWP (Professional Women Photographers) and served as President for seven years. Katherine moved to Long Island in 2006 joined the b. j. spoke gallery founding the ongoing Artist Circle group that meets regularly at the gallery in Huntington. In 2016 she created a mural, and donated it to the town of Riverhead.
